Pi Kappa Mu
Clea Kinderton
Clea Kinderton's Pi Kappa Mu strikes that note with me. It's not romance by any stretch of the imagination. It's got strong fetish and LGBT notes. It's an example of what some might call "lactation erotica," a somewhat dark trend in erotica where women's breasts are made to lactate artificially and the women are treated as - wince - cattle.
Demeaning? Usually. Harsh? Usually. Horrific? Usually.
Yet in Kinderton's take, somehow it's not. Kinderton breaks many of the tropes and turns a mildly disturbing fetish into an unexpectedly delightful, fun-filled romp with out-and-out, over-the-top kink. And it's told with an undertone of social satire, to boot. This is literary stuff - hilarious, twisted, masterfully written.
Again, Pi Kappa Mu is adamantly not M/F erotic romance - and I loooooove M/F erotic romance, so a part of me desperately wishes it were - but ultimately, who cares? It's a bizarre, kinky, laugh-out-loud gem!
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this baby, lucky me!
